Palace Yard
PALACE Yard has some good work outside, but the chief interest is in the interior detail and historical association. It had a fine staircase and still has moulded plaster ceilings, good lead work and two fifteenth century fireplaces. Part is fifteenth century—the rest of various dates. The Hopkins, who owned it, played a great part in Coventry history, and their house has entertained Princesses and Kings. Miss Dormer Harris had a charming article on the place, in the “Country Life,” of 11th September, 1915, which has since been separately reprinted.
